Watch GT 6 41mm Huawei's sub-10 mm GT with a week of battery
The Huawei Watch GT 6 41 mm is a £229.99 round smartwatch with a stainless steel case under 10 mm thick, dual-band GPS and about a week of typical battery life. It suits smaller wrists and anyone who wants a light, long-lasting tracker that works with Android or iPhone. The catch: a thin app store, limited iPhone replies and no Google Wallet.

The short version
The smaller GT 6 gives up a week of the 46 mm model's battery claim in return for a 37.5 g case that sits flat on a slim wrist. A year after launch, it also undercuts the new GT 7 41 mm by £50.
What is new about the Huawei Watch GT 6 41mm?
Huawei announced the GT 6 series on 19 September 2025, and Tech Advisor reported the same day that UK prices started at £229 for the standard GT 6 and £329 for the GT 6 Pro. Huawei's UK store still lists the 41 mm Black version at £229.99, the same as the 46 mm models, with a Gold Milanese version at £249.99.
The headline changes over the GT 5 were battery and sport tracking. Tech Advisor says the 46 mm GT 6 has a battery with 65% more capacity than the outgoing GT 5 series, using a high-silicon stacked cell. Huawei also claimed the GT 6 series were the first smartwatches to offer cycling virtual power, which estimates your output in watts without extra sensors on the bike. Notebookcheck explains that it works from speed, altitude, incline, body weight and bike model. Huawei's Sunflower positioning system and a new heart rate variability metric round out the update.
Since then, Huawei has launched the GT 7, so the GT 6 is now last year's model. It remains on sale on Huawei's UK store in five 41 mm finishes: Black, Lilac, White, Brown and Gold.
How big is it, and how will it wear?
Huawei's specification page gives the 41 mm case as 41.3 by 41.3 mm and 9.99 mm thick, with a weight of about 37.5 g without the strap. That is a big step down from the 46 mm version, which measures 46 mm across, 10.95 mm thick and weighs about 51.3 g.
Huawei says the black fluoroelastomer strap fits wrists from 120 to 190 mm, so it covers small wrists that most round smartwatches swamp. The 1.32 inch AMOLED screen has a 466 by 466 pixel resolution, which works out at 352 pixels per inch, sharper on paper than the larger model's 317.
What does it track, and how good is the battery?
The sensor list covers the basics well: optical heart rate, a barometer, a temperature sensor, an ambient light sensor and the usual motion sensors. Huawei does not list an ECG sensor for the GT 6. Positioning uses dual-band GPS alongside GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS and NavIC, which is unusual at this price.
Battery life is where the smaller case costs you. Huawei quotes up to 14 days of light use, 7 days of typical use, 5 days with the always-on display and 25 hours in outdoor sport mode. The 46 mm model claims 21, 12 and 7 days, and 40 hours. A week of typical use is still far beyond an Apple Watch, and it charges wirelessly on a cradle.
Notebookcheck tested the 46 mm model and found heart rate readings close to a Polar H10 chest strap, with peak values usually one or two beats out. It also found the dual-band GPS tracked a route accurately between houses. The 41 mm model uses the same positioning hardware, so similar results are a fair expectation.
How well is it built?
The case is stainless steel. Huawei rates it to 5 ATM under ISO 22810 and IP69, and says it can be worn for pool and shallow coastal swimming, but not for diving, hot showers or saunas. There is a speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calls, NFC and Bluetooth 6.0. It works with Android 9 or later and iOS 13 or later through the Huawei Health app.
Is it good value against its rivals?
The first rival is Huawei's own GT 7 41 mm, which Huawei UK lists at £279.99. It is the newer watch, but £50 is a lot to pay if the GT 6 already does what you need.
The Apple Watch SE 3 in 40 mm has an RRP of £219 and offers a far bigger app library, but it only works with an iPhone and needs charging far more often. Garmin's vivoactive 6, at £269.99 on Garmin UK, has stronger training tools and wider third-party support for £40 more. Against both, the GT 6 41 mm wins on battery life and dual-band GPS.
What is the catch?
Software is the main catch. Notebookcheck notes that on iPhone you cannot reply to messages from the watch and Petal Maps navigation is not supported. There is no Wi-Fi, no voice assistant and only a small app store. Contactless payments go through a prepaid service rather than Google Wallet or Apple Pay.
The second catch is support. Huawei's UK specification page lists a defined support period running from 10 October 2025 to 9 October 2027, which is worth weighing if you keep a watch for years.
“A smartwatch that fits a slim wrist and still lasts a week, if you can live with Huawei's apps.”
