Clement Grand Sekonda's tank-style dress watch gets bigger
The Sekonda Clement Grand 30355 is a slim, 32 mm rectangular quartz dress watch with a white guilloche dial, blue Roman numerals and a black leather strap, at an RRP of £49.99. It suits anyone who wants the classic tank look for weddings, the office or a gift. The catch: Sekonda lists no water resistance at all, so it must stay dry.

The short version
Sekonda has taken its rectangular Clement, stretched the case to 32 mm, slimmed it to 6 mm and added blue Roman numerals. The result is a very affordable take on the 1920s tank look, with some clear compromises underneath.
What is new about the Sekonda Clement Grand?
The Clement Grand is a bigger version of the Clement, Sekonda's rectangular dress watch. The original Clement (reference 30272) has a 28 mm case. The Grand moves up to 32 mm and widens the strap from 20 mm to 23 mm. Sekonda sums it up as "the classic you know, now with more presence".
The design has changed too. The original Clement pairs a white guilloche dial with plain markers. The Grand keeps the textured white dial but adds blue Roman numerals and blue hands, a look borrowed straight from the classic tank watches of the 1920s. Reference 30355, covered here, comes on a black leather strap. A sister model, 30354, uses a silver alloy bracelet.
The Clement Grand sits in Sekonda's autumn and winter 2026 new-in range, so it is one of the newest dress watches on the UK high street.
How big is it, and how will it wear?
Sekonda lists a case width of 32 mm and a case depth of 6 mm. It does not publish a lug-to-lug length, which matters more than width on a rectangular watch. Judging by the official photos, the case is taller than it is wide, so it will look longer on the wrist than the 32 mm figure suggests.
At 6 mm deep it is a genuinely slim watch. That is thinner than the 7 mm original Clement, and it should slide under a shirt cuff without catching. Sekonda gives the strap a length range of 160 mm to 202 mm, which covers most adult wrists.
The 23 mm strap is wide for a dress watch of this size. It gives the watch a bolder, more modern stance than a vintage tank, which usually runs a narrower strap. If you want something discreet, the original 28 mm Clement is the quieter choice.
What movement does it use, and how accurate is it?
The Clement Grand runs on a battery quartz movement. Sekonda lists the movement type simply as "Analogue" and names the battery as a 377 cell, but it does not publish the calibre or an accuracy figure.
That matters less than it sounds. A basic quartz movement in this class is typically accurate to within seconds a month, far tighter than any mechanical watch at ten times the price. The trade-off is the battery: plan on a replacement every few years. The 377 is a common silver oxide cell that any high street key cutter or jeweller can fit.
The official photos show only hour and minute hands and no date window, which keeps the face clean. For a dress watch that is the right call.
How well is it built?
This is where the price shows. Sekonda describes the case only as silver, and the matching bracelet version uses alloy rather than stainless steel. The strap is listed as "leather upper", which usually means a leather top layer over a synthetic or bonded backing. Sekonda does not state the crystal material.
The biggest catch is water resistance. Sekonda lists it as "None". That rules out washing up with it on, and you should take it off before a shower or a heavy downpour. For a watch worn to dinners, weddings and the office, that may never matter. For a daily wearer, it might.
On the plus side, Sekonda backs the watch with a two-year guarantee, and the brand says every watch passes 21 quality checks.
Is it good value against its rivals?
The RRP is £49.99 on the leather strap, or £54.99 for the bracelet version (30354). That makes the Clement Grand one of the cheapest ways into the tank look from a brand with a long UK history.
The obvious rival is the Casio MTP-B215, a rectangular dress watch launched in 2026. GSMGoTech reports a European price of 89.90 euros, a 39.7 mm by 26.0 mm case at 7.9 mm thick, mineral crystal, a stainless steel case and 50 m water resistance. On paper the Casio is better built and safer around water. The Sekonda is slimmer, cheaper and has the more traditional dial, with Roman numerals and blue hands that the plain Casio lacks.
The second rival is Sekonda's own original Clement 30272 at £54.99. It is smaller at 28 mm, slightly thicker at 7 mm, and comes on a bracelet. Pick the Grand if you want the bolder dial and wider strap.

What is the catch?
There are three. First, no water resistance at all, which is unusual even at this price. Second, the materials: an unspecified case metal, a leather upper strap and no published crystal. Third, the blue Roman numerals are a borrowed look, and anyone who knows watches will spot the reference immediately.
If those are acceptable, the Clement Grand offers a lot of style for the money. It is slim, it has a properly dressy dial, and at under £50 it costs less than many replacement straps for a luxury watch.
“A tank-style dial and a 6 mm case for less than the price of a good leather strap.”
